7 Day Food & Mood Journal Analysis

A food journal is a powerful tool for discovering patterns and habits—that either help or hinder how you feel throughout your day.— One of the most surprising realizations you will come to in your first few days of journaling your meals is that you don’t always eat because of hunger. In fact, a lot of the unnecessary eating you are doing comes when you are stressed out, bored, or triggered by an external cue or the environment. Often all that’s needed to see real results is a small change in behavior.

Some insights you may gain from keeping a food journal:

  • Why you eat when you're not hungry

  • How your dinner companions affect your eating habits.

  • How you feel after eating certain foods.

  • If your perceptions match your reality.

For 7 days you will record what you eat when you eat it and any physical or emotional observations you make around meal times (eg, headache half an hour after dinner).
